Our curriculum meets the statutory expectations of the Early Years Foundation Stage for (children in Nursery and Reception) and the National Curriculum (2014).
To support our learning in phonics we follow the national publication - 'Letters and Sounds' alongside a published scheme, 'Jolly phonics'.

All books in school are book banded so that there is a moderated system in place. Each day the children will be involved in a reading session, within which there will be focused guided reading sessions and a range of comprehension and reading games. We use a range of reading schemes in school such as Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star, Project X and PM to develop breadth in reading.
We have taken the statutory content and given it a Berry Brow context so that it becomes relevant and exciting for the children in our school. We established our curriculum based on our ambitions to provide exciting and high quality learning experiences that help children to make sense of the world around them and more especially their immediate community.
In order to achieve our school aims we have built a curriculum that will support children to develop positive attitudes to themselves, to each other and to learning. We will provide new experiences and built on the hard work that our parents have done as first educators.
We want children in our school to have "reached for the stars" in every aspect of school life and to have achieved the very best outcomes possible because learning has been motivating, engaging and fun!
